In 1897, my Great Grandfather bicycled from Hertfordshire to Tynemouth with his brother.  He kept a journal which has been passed down to me.  As a project I am going to explore cycling then and now, touring by bike, and the places and history his journal describes.  I hope you enjoy following this exploration with me.
